Friends of Village Primary School is a registered charity (number 1200499). Our money comes from fund raising events and direct donations. All of the money we raise is spent on the school and giving the children memorable experiences. If you would like to make a regular or one-off donation to us, please email us at mail@FriendsOfVillage.org.uk. Alternatively, leave your details at reception or with a member of staff on the gate and we'll get in touch with you.
We also try to directly source (free or cheaply) things for our fairs and items the school may use, like books for the school library. If you would like to make a non-cash donation, please click here to see some of the things we are on the look out for.
Spending is decided by our committee. There are 4 main areas where we look at our spending options:
1) Special events. Last school year we used some of our funds to pay for fun experiences for the children. These included the Halloween Disco, part of the Magical Christmas experience, an Easter egg hunt in the school grounds and the Summer disco.
2) Educational items to supplement lessons or after school clubs. We have already donated 100's of library books to the school and pretend play toys for the nursery.
3) Fund raising items. This includes smaller things like raffle books and cake ingredients for fairs, but we are also looking at possible options that we can re-use regularly like disco lights, popcorn machines and bingo machines.
4) Longer-term bigger projects. At the moment, we are saving up the some of our funds to get some new outdoor playground equipment for the school playground.
